Finally....A JOB!

After many many interviews, and still more to come, I have found a job!! I am currently working at Tijuana Flats, a mexican restaurant. http://www.tijuanaflats.com/index.php I am a part of their wait staff and so far its great. It is pretty much just something to hold me over until everything works out with sail laser. The hours are flexible, the pay is ok, and they offer benefits!!!

Other than that everything has been fun...except for the fact that the sox are down in the series. I show red sox pride everywhere, and so far no one has attacked me! Everybody is really friendly and its fun to walk around in a sox shirt at the bars!

I just wanted to put up a picture of the view from my apartment. This picture is what I see when I walk out the front door and look down the street. It is a little park with a beach and public tennis courts. Its a 3 minute walk and a great place to relax for the afternoon!


Another update: I am off the crutches!!! I went sailing for the first time yesterday and it was soooooo great to be back out there!!! The only scary part about the whole thing was watching a shark swim right underneath me and the boat...it was little, but where there are small ones there are big ones! So far, haven't seen any of the big ones!

Being a tourist.

I have decided that while I am still trying to find a job, I might as well check out the sights and the local parks/beaches. I went to the park for awhile a couple days ago, which was beautiful and a chance to be outside and not just tanning on the beach. Monday I got to go out sailing, which was absolutely beautiful, not much breeze, but beautiful. It has been a lot of fun getting to know people and doing things around St. Pete.




Last night I went to the USF Bulls game!!! Yes, I rooted for the bulls...I didn't go to a college that had football and never paid attention to it before so i figured why not. It was a lot of fun!


As for the job update...I have an interview tonight for a manager position at a local mexican restaurant that a few of my friends work at, and an interview next week at a retail store, also for a management position. Hopefully something works out, I will keep posting.

Trying to get settled...

It has been awhile between posts pretty much because there has been no updates on the job search. So far, I have gotten a babysitting job to hold me over, which doesn't give me too many hours. I have applied to sunglass hut (sorry david) and also to T-flats. Not much I can do on these stupid crutches! Other wise, I have been doing the best I can to set up the apartment and not go insane! My place is a 2 second walk...or a drive for me...from the beach! These pictures are of the park and beach at the end of my street.




Here are some pictures of my apartment. Actually, they are only of the kitchen because the living room is in shambles. I probably should have cleaned before I took these, but o well. Hopefully there will be more updates soon!

What a trip!

After a long drive, no sleep, and plenty of entertainment I am finally here!!! Jamie, Matt and myself left Friday evening from Roger Williams on our journey to sunny Jacksonville, FL. We arrived at 2 on Saturday afternoon to a beautiful apartment on the beach!! All of us were pretty ready to get out of the car, especially myself after sitting for about 15 hours on my hip. After a few dark and stormies and a swim in the pool we all fell asleep very early. Jamie and I dropped off Matt at the airport and finished the rest of our trip to St. Pete!!!
